Cody Cole, 2024 – Present

Chee-la! Cody Cole waa ‘vm-nvsh-shi. Hello! My name is Cody Cole I am the proud great-grandson of the Late Edward Bass Case and Cassie Cat Lalo and the son of Phyllis Cole and Jesse Wright. Born and raised in Southern Oregon, I spent my formative years on my family’s ranch, Kalm Kan Springs, where I developed a deep connection to the land and traditions that shape my identity.

After graduating from Chiloquin High School, I embarked on a journey throughout Indian Country, immersing myself in the rich cultures of various Tribal communities. Today, I reside in Neotsu, OR, and serve as the Incentive and Events Specialist for the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde (CTGR). Before stepping into this role, I dedicated eight years to Chinook Winds Casino Resort (CWCR), where I completed the protégé program and worked across multiple departments, ultimately refining my expertise in Human Resources over five years.

I am a certified Tribal Human Resource Professional (THRP) through NNAHRA and gained valuable Gaming Management experience through the University of Nevada, Reno. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at George Fox University, further strengthening my foundation in business management.

My dedication to community service has led me to serve on the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (CTSI) health committee, chair the CTSI election board, and contribute to the STAHS Board. I am passionate about ensuring that our history is preserved and shared with the world, advocating for the establishment of a museum to honor our Ancestors and showcase the vibrant and enduring legacy of our people.

Beyond my professional and civic commitments, I actively participate in Tribal events across Indian Country. Pow Wows, Round Dances, and Sweat Lodge ceremonies hold a special place in my heart, as they keep me connected to tradition and community. An avid hunter and fisherman, I find solace in the great outdoors, where I embrace the skills and values passed down through generations.

Through my experiences living, working, and engaging with numerous Tribal Nations, I have cultivated a deep understanding of our people’s diverse needs and aspirations. I am committed to contributing my knowledge and expertise to help strengthen and uplift our communities for generations to come.
