
Tribal Council Rep 2025
Reggie Butler Jr. is the son of Reggie Butler Sr. and Lillie Butler, and grandson of Alton Butler (Siletz), Ella Brown-Simmons (Siletz), John Logan Sr. (Siletz), and Eleanor Logan of the Yurok Tribe. Reggie was elected to the Siletz Tribal Council in February 2025 and appointed as the Tribal Council Representative to Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage.
His thirty-year tenure with the Tribe includes his current role as the Physical Activities Coordinator at the Tillicum Fitness Center and eighteen years as the Natural Resource Crew Leader in Forestry. This extensive professional background provides him with valuable insights into the Tribe’s relationship with its land and resources, a perspective that aligns closely with the Society’s mission.
Reggie’s dedication extends to the youth of Siletz, where he has coached football, wrestling, baseball, and softball for 25 years. Currently, Reggie serves as the Head Football and Wrestling Coach at Siletz Valley School. His involvement in education and mentorship underscores his dedication to the well-being and development of future generations, vital to the continuation of cultural traditions. Furthermore, his current and past participation with the Siletz Valley School Board, the Siletz Valley Fire Board, and as a member of the Siletz Gospel Tabernacle highlights his deep community engagement.
As a member of the Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society board, Reggie’s extensive experience, deep community roots, and commitment to both the land and its people will be instrumental in supporting the Society’s efforts to preserve, promote, and celebrate the cultural heritage of the Siletz Tribe.
