STAHS Board of Directors hosted the 2nd Annual Honoring the Past, Building the Future Gala held on October 21, 2023 at Chinook’s Seafood Grill. The Gala raised $15,000 for the Dave Hatch Endowment.
The Gala was attended by 120 guests, including local business leaders, sponsors, Oregon legislators, foundations and community members. The Gala featured, drumming by “No Tell Ridge,” a cocktail reception, silent auction, photo booth, dinner and live comedian.
The silent auction was a highlight of the event, with over 48 items up for bid. The items included vacations, tickets to sporting events, indigenous jewelry, beaded items, and gift certificates to local businesses.
The dinner and venue were provided by Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
The Gala was a huge success and raised $15, 000 for the Dave Hatch Endowment. The endowment was established in 2019, in memory of Dave, to support the operations of Ghii Dee-Ne Dvn, A Place for the People, the cultural center and museum that is now under construction in Siletz, Oregon.
“The Dave Hatch Endowments is critical to help support the long-term funding needs that is essential for the operations of Ghii Dee-Ne Dvn,” said Development Director Stephanie Chamberlin. “We are so grateful to everyone who came out to support STAHS. This Gala is at the heart of STAHS’s mission to support and promote the culture of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.”
Many guests expressed their interest in STAHS and the wonderful time they had at the event and looking forward to next year. Thank you to our wonderful sponsors: Chinook Winds Casino Resort, San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Three Rivers Casino, and PGE Foundation.
STAHS is grateful to everyone who made it possible.
