Teresa Simmons, Vice Chair for STAHS, 2013 – present

Teresa (Robb) Simmons joined the STAHS Board of Directors in February 2013. She grew up near Logsden and attended Siletz School  for 12 years graduating from Siletz High School in 1968. Her background is in ranching, timber, tourism, journalism, photography and marketing.

From 1989 to 1996 she was first the Hunting and Fishing Liaison/Public Information Officer for the Siletz Tribe and later the Public Information Officer/Siletz News  Editor.  While there she was a member of the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society, and the Native American Journalism Association.  From 1997 to 2012 she served as the Community Relations Manager for Chinook Winds Casino Resort.  Simmons represented CWCR at the Lincoln City Kiwanis Club meetings, the Depoe Bay and Newport Chamber of Commerce Meetings, and was active as a Lincoln City Chamber Ambassador. She was elected to three terms on the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce Board; selected to serve on the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Advisory Board ; The Oregon Coast visitors Association and the Central Oregon Coast Association. She was also member of the Tribal Tourism working group for many years.

Over the years she become familiar with or worked with nearly all of the charitable and non-profit organizations in Lincoln County .  Simmons assisted in an advisory capacity with several boards and committees and planned and coordinated or assisted in planning many events.  She is a life-time member of the Elks National Foundation and an Associate Charter Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America – Newport Chapter. After retiring from Chinook Winds in 2013 she became a member of the STAHS board and has continued to serve on the board of Angels Anonymous as Secretary since 2005.
