Gloria (Rilatos) Ingle is the Chair of the Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society. A member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, she is the daughter of Edward and Dolores Rilatos, granddaughter of Tuton and Pearl Rilatos and great-grand daughter of Hoxie and Lizzie Simmons.
Her roots go deep into the bedrock of the State of Oregon and the community of Siletz. She is a retired teacher and K-12 principal. She continues her love of education by serving on the Oregon Coastal Community Colleges Foundation. She also served a four-year term as a member of the Board of Trustees of Western Oregon University. She served on the Siletz Tribal Council for six years, from February 2014 – February 2020. Combining her love of learning, her Tribal membership and her past work on the Tribal Council has developed her sense of curiosity.
Combining her curiosity with a love of history and education has led to the perfect storm to work to preserve the history of the ancestors of the tribe and the opportunity to teach others cultural connections, language and art through building a learning center with a museum component. This will become a Place for Our People.
